Collaboration and Support for Research on Teaching
There is a well established body of research on teaching and learning in the tertiary sector. This is shown in the many international journals dedicated to the scholarship of tertiary teaching and learning both in a generic context and within particular academic disciplines. Conducting research on your teaching has many benefits including the opportunity to base your classroom practice on rigorous evidence. Furthermore, getting published in teaching-related journals or presenting at higher education conferences offers academics additional opportunities to improve their PBRF record. Conducting research on innovative teaching also enables academics to innovate, evaluate and modify practice in an informed and scholarly manner.
If you are interested in finding out about the scholarship of teaching in a particular area or getting started with your own research in teaching, TDU staff can provide you with guidance and support or work collaboratively with you. This research can also be conducted within the context of the PGCert(TertTchg) which will give you the additional benefit of a tertiary teaching qualification.
