The Vice-Chancellor is the head of the University responsible for all administrative and academic affairs.

Vice-ChancellorQualifications: BA MA(Hons) Canterbury PhD Toronto

 

Professor Quigley has a BA and MA with first class honours from the University of Canterbury, a PhD from the University of Toronto, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Economics in Vietnam. He is an economist of international standing with a long track-record of academic and strategic leadership. He holds a number of Board and expert advisory group memberships; in particular he is a Director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and also a Director of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Professor Quigley was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato in 2015 and is an ex officio member of Council.
