Keynote SpeakersThere will be two keynote speakers, one from New Zealand and one from France. Dr Chris Pugsley (Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst) will be the New Zealand keynote speaker. His publications include The Anzac Experience: New Zealand, Australia and Empire in the First World War (2004); Gallipoli The New Zealand Story (1984); Te Hokowhitu A Tu: The Māori Pioneer Battalion in the First World War (1995); Scars on the Heart: Two Centuries of New Zealand at War (1995) editor and principal contributor; On the Fringe of Hell: New Zealanders and Military Discipline in the First World War (1991) Dr Pierre Purseigle (University of Birmingham and President of the International Society for First World War Studies) will be the French keynote speaker. His publications include Warfare and Belligerence. Perspectives in First World War Studies (2005); and with Jenny Macleod, Uncovered fields.
