Planting event at Waiwhakareke

Feel like getting some fresh air, meeting some like-minded students and professionals and giving something back to nature? The NZPI Waikato Branch has extended an invitation to a planting event on 10 March as follows:      

  • Restoration planting at the lake at the 60 ha Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park  and an overview of the vision of the site from Professor Bruce Clarkson, University of Waikato, department of Biological Sciences
  • Bbq and drinks after planting (planting is anticipated to take 30 minutes to an hour)

When: 4pm Wednesday 10th March 

Where : Meet at Baverstock Road at 4pm at the Waiwhakareke information sign

 

Bring: Gloves, sunscreen, spades, suitable shoes (gumboots - probably wet and muddy underfoot)

Supplied: Some spades 

Eats: bbq, drink and sausages courtesy of Beca

Non-NZPI members and children are more than welcome (this is a family event)
