As an undergraduate student with the Division or Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences you have six world-class degrees to choose from, along with a huge range of subjects to study towards your chosen qualification. Graduate Study in FASS

Graduate Study

The possibilities for graduate and postgraduate study in the School of Arts, Te Piringa Faculty of Law, School of Psychology and School of Social Sciences are extensive. We welcome all graduate and postgraduate students who intend to study in the Division, whether your undergraduate degree was taken at The University of Waikato or whether you completed your first degree at another tertiary institution. Our academic staff are leading experts in their respective fields, and are widely published in top academic journals and in print. They are able to meet, correspond with and supervise students on matters relating to their expertise and interests. Divisional graduate advisers are able to assist you in the planning of your programme of study, there are scholarships, including awards funded by the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences, and the Division may also be able to provide funding for graduate research-related expenses and conference attendance.


Maori Students

Māori Students

Māori students flourish in the Divison of Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences, both at undergraduate and graduate level, and our graduates go on to do great things. The Division offers orientation activities, academic tutoring, mentoring, programme and course advice, study wānanga and other helpful initiatives for Māori students through Te Aka Matua. and Te Whakahiapo.  We also hold whakawhanaungatanga activities, or social get-togethers, throughout the year to bring Māori students together. The Māori Student Liaison Coordinators are the first point of contact for course advice and degree planning.


International Students

International Students

The Division offers students a range of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate qualifications that are recognized and respected around the world. We provide support services for our international students over and above University-wide support from Waikato International.
