つい先日[せんじつ]、観光庁[かんこうちょう] (= Tourism Agency)の溝畑[みぞはた]宏[ひろし]長官[ちょうかん] (= commissioner)が韓国[かんこく]へ行[い]きました。
Commissioner Mizohata, JapanTourism Agency went to Korea the other day.
ソウルで記者[きしゃ]会見[かいけん] (= press conference)を開[ひら]き(= to hold)、地震[じしん]後[ご]の日本[にほん]の現在[げんざい]の状況[じょうきょう]を説明[せつめい]しました。「是非[せひ]、日本[にほん]へ観光[かんこう] (= sightseeing)に来[き]てください」といいました。そして、そこで韓国[かんこく]の歌[うた]を韓国語[かんこくご]で歌[うた]ったそうです! いやあ、政治家[せいじか]の仕事[しごと]も大変[たいへん]だ!
Mr Mizohata went to Korea to explain the latest situation of Japan and emphasised that it is okay to come to Japan now. He held a press conference in Seoul and even sang a Korean song in Korean! Wow, politicians sometimes have to do such a thing as well!
