Research Interests:

Bill Cochrane has been research fellow in the Population Studies Centre since 2002. His main interests lie in the field of regional labour economics and the changing nature and organisation of work. He is also involved with Jacques Poot and Michael Cameron in the provision of a wide range of consultancy services to local authorities, district health boards and various NGO's in the areas of population projection and labour market analysis.

In 2005 Bill obtained a University of Waikato doctoral scholarship to undertake research on regional diversity and local labour market outcomes in New Zealand which will be completed in early 2009.
