FASSGRAD 2011

Postgraduate students from Waikato and across the country will be presenting their research at the annual postgraduate conference hosted by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences from October 17-18. The conference, FASSGRAD 2011, features presentations from a wide spectrum of diverse and exciting research topics ranging from new technologies, their uses and impacts on society to new perspectives and understandings of contemporary and historical issues.
The conference begins on Monday, October 17 with the keynote address from New Zealand writer Chris Bourke, winner of book of the year, general non-fiction, and the people's choice at the New Zealand Post Book Awards, for Blue Smoke: The Lost Dawn of New Zealand Popular Music 1918-1964. The conference concludes on Tuesday October 18 with a cocktail party at the Station, Hillcrest Road.
Staff, students and members of the public are welcome to attend the conference free of charge, but are asked to register by email to Mary Melinn.
This annual conference is a yearly demonstration of the quality and value of research by graduate scholars and the creativity, new discoveries and new knowledge it brings to enrich our lives.
