Paper description
This paper aims to familiarise planning students with concepts, principles and methods relevant to Māori planning and resource management.
Paper objectives
Students who complete this paper will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of Maori perspectives (values and beliefs) in relation to resources and environmental planning.
- Identify institutions relevant to Maori resource management and environmental planning.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to planning issues affecting Maori communities.
- Demonstrate written and oral communication skills

Apart from some handouts which will be distributed in class, the required readings for this paper course can be found in this text which is available at Bennett’s Bookshop.
