French - Activities

The French Chat

The more you practise, the better your French will get! Make sure you go to the weekly French Chat and the French breakfast each month.

The French Chat meets every Tuesday throughout the year at 6pm, at Embargo (in Garden Place, central Hamilton), for speakers of French of every level. All welcome.

The French Breakfast is on the first Saturday of each month from 10am at the Cook, (Cook St, Hamilton East, opposite Steele Park), for speakers of French of every level. All welcome.

The Alliance Française

You should also consider joining the Alliance Française, a world-wide organisation with headquarters in Paris; its purpose is to spread French culture and language. The Hamilton branch of the Alliance welcomes people who share an interest in various aspects of French culture and who enjoy the opportunity to speak French (but speaking French is not obligatory). The Alliance Française sponsors the 'Concours Oral' held each year for secondary school pupils in the Waikato region.
