- The New Zealand Chamber Soloists are delighted to have received an anonymous donation of $20,000. This generous gift is particularly welcome in these early stages of setting up of what promises to be one of the country's leading professional ensembles. The musicians of NZCS are particularly grateful for such a far-sighted gesture that will pay dividends for the health and growth of the Waikato music scene.

The Hillary Chamber Music Competition
The Music Department’s annual Chamber Music Competition is always one of the high points of the year and on Friday 20th October the $2000 prize was carried off by violinist Euna-Jenny Song and pianist Tania Park. And it was a double victory – competing against works by such classic names as Telemann, Franck and Schumann, the winning duo chose a New Zealand work, Split the Lark, by Auckland composer Eve de Castro-Robinson.
The prize is made possible thanks to the continued support of The Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Programme.
