Nexus Sonicus

Composition - Technology - Performance

Nexus Sonicus focuses on producing musical works  and research that combines digital technology, composition, and aspects of traditional performance across cultures. This includes:

The New Zealand Sonic Art CD Series that is  collated, edited and published through the School of Art's Music Programme encompassing works by most major New Zealand electroacoustic and experimental composers.

The Interactive Music Project in which composers, programmers and performers work collaboratively to develop musical/artistic works using interactive technologies applied to acoustic, mixed and networked media.

Our research networks include editorial board contributions to Organised Sound (Cambridge University Press); and Board contributions to the International Computer Music Association.

We are an active member of the Syneme Network investigating music/sound artistic performance in high-speed networks.

We also host the Australasian Computer Music Association Mailing List (acma-1) a listserv discussion group for the Australasian Computer Music Association.

We also direct the Campus ArtzElectro event series for the Waikato Campus.
