Ethics - Undergraduate Study

Qualifications Available

Bachelor of Arts (BA) | Degree Planner (pdf)
Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSc) | Degree Planner (pdf)
Certificate (Cert(Arts) or (Cert(SocSc))
Diploma (Dip(Arts) or (Dip(SocSc))
Graduate Certificate (GradCert(Ethics))
Gradaute Diploma (GradDip(Ethics))

Ethics is available as a major for the BA and BSocSc.  Ethics may also be taken as a second major or as a supporting subject within other undergraduate degrees.


Subject Regulations

To complete a major in Ethics, students must gain at least 120 points above 100 level in the Ethics subject, including at least 60 points above 200 level. These must include the compulsory papers listed below.

Compulsory papers:
     PHIL215
     PHIL309
and at least 20 points from
     PHIL217
     PHIL218
     PHIL219
     MNGT221

Recommended in first year of programme of study (at least 2 of):
     PHIL103 Critical Reasoning
     PHIL106 Social and Moral Philosophy
     PHIL150 The Big Questions: An Introduction to Philosophy

To complete a supporting subject in Ethics, students must gain 70 points in the Ethics subject, of which at least 40 points must be above 100 level.
