Re-integration of child sexual offenders back into the community
This narrative exploration is scrutinising various characterisations of child sex offenders and how these may hamper or foster reintegration processes. Archival research allows the examination of historical context of sexuality in Aotearoa / New Zealand, while an understanding of public concerns regarding child sex offenders is gained by analysing media reports and focus group discussions. Pre- and post-release interviews conducted with convicted child sex offenders document their experiences. I investigate ways of responding to public concerns that benefit both the community and offenders released from prison.
