Media Studies - Undergraduate Programme

BCS Entry & Regulations

As there will be no new intake within FASS to the BCS degree from 2010, only students who are enrolled in the degree in 2009 and prior may take this major.

Regulations for a major

To complete a major in Media Studies, you must pass 120 points above 100 level from those listed for the subject, with at least 60 points above 200 level. These must include the compulsory papers listed.

Compulsory papers:
     SMST207 The Media and Society 2: Media Research
     SMST305 The Media and Society 3: Local and Global

Highly recommended papers:
     SMST101 Screen Studies 1: The Moving Image
     SMST214 Screen Studies 2: World Media
