New issue of WJE with special section on Māori Education
Date / Time: April 2014
Waikato Journal Of Education 17(2), 2012 with Special Section: Māori Education
E ngā iwi, e ngā mana, e ngā reo, tēnā koutou katoa. This issue of the Waikato Journal of Education contains a special section on Māori education with a particular focus on Māori teachers. Articles focus on areas relating to assessment, cultural responsiveness, pāngarau (mathematics) and national standards. The section also includes a first for the journal – an article written in te reo Māori. The articles help to provide insights into the professional lives and experiences of Māori teachers. They unpack some of the ways that Māori teachers have made, or might make, headway in their respective educational contexts to improve teaching and learning for, mainly, Māori learners.
