BSc Environmental Studies (Victoria University, Wellington)

Master of Environmental Education (Griffith University, Brisbane)

I joined the Learning Hubs team in January 2009 as a content developer for the Science Learning Hub. The Science Learning Hub aims to provide a link between science research organisations and science teachers, and promote student interest and engagement in science. The hub is an initiative of the Government of New Zealand, funded through the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Background

Prior to starting at the University of Waikato I was based at CRIPSAT (Centre for Research in Primary Science and Technology) at the University of Liverpool.  I developed interactive, digital materials to support the new Primary Science Curriculum in Wales.

Before working in the University environment I worked in the non-profit sector, for a large regeneration charity in the UK. I coordinated the youth and education programmes with a focus on environmental education and using the school grounds for teaching. Prior to this I taught for two years at an environmental education centre in the USA.
