Te Puawaitanga – partnerships with tamariki and whānau in bicultural early childhood care and education
Project Dates: 2006 - 2007
The project identified how experienced early childhood educators implement culturally focused programmes that enhance the cultural learnings and affirm the diverse identities of children and families.
It enabled the voices of these key ‘stakeholders’, the children and their families, to be heard.
This was achieved by working with these colleagues, children, and families to document, validate, and explore the narratives of a geographically and ethnically diverse group of participants.
The Te Puawaitanga – partnerships with tamariki and whānauin bicultural early childhood care and education Project was a two-year project funded through the Teaching and Learning Research Initiative (TLRI). For more information about the TLRI please go to tlri.org.nz
