Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment
Network Leader: Clive McGee

The Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment research network is concerned with research in a variety of topics at different levels. In recent years there has been growing research activity related to the exploration of educational policies and practices that enhance the learning opportunities and outcomes for school students. It is now widely recognised that the provision of learning opportunities requires an alignment between curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
Policy developments at the national level provide avenues for research into impacts upon schools, teachers and students. At the school and classroom level there is scope for research that is embedded in particular contexts such as the impacts of changing curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. Currently, some members of this group are engaged in research that is tracking the implementation of the new national curriculum and the use of ICT. Further classroom-based research will focus on practices and outcomes related to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
