The Sport and Leisure Studies research network is generally concerned with a variety of standpoints, methodologies, and topical areas. Members' research areas include feminist research, ethnographic methods, physical education and sport-related pedagogies, dance, media studies, older populations, youth populations (including sport and pedagogical practices), critical race and gender theories, sport and leisure organisations, the body, embodiment, and Māori and indigenous practices. The network has identified four major research strands: Representing movement practices; Youth communities; Critical understandings of sport and physical culture; Ethnography.
