Ensemble Zefiro
19 Aug 2018 5:00 PM
The extraordinary colours of 17th and 18th century woodwind instruments have lent Italy’s Ensemble Zefiro a cult following. Founded by Maestri dei legni, Alfredo Bernadini and Alberto Grazzi, this period-instrument ensemble have won numerous awards including the Grand Prix du Disque and Gramophone’s Editor’s Choice award.
In Hamilton, Zefiro offers a banquet of Handel, Fasch, Telemann, Haydn and Mozart.
Light, elegant and unapologetically entertaining, these compositions dazzled 18th century nobility with their easy charms. Zefiro’s unique timbres and brilliant virtuosity is no less beguiling today.
