Recognising Excellence in European Languages
Recipients of the 2016 European Union Prize in European Languages were privileged to have their awards presented to them this year by the European Union’s Chargé d’Affaires.
Michalis Rokas, Chargé d’Affaires for the European Union Delegation in Wellington, visited campus last month to present the 2016 prizes to three Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences language students.
Patricia Gammeter, Moria Brengauz and David Bowers-Mason (not present at the awards ceremony) each received a monetary contribution towards their study expenses.
The European Union Prize in European Languages is awarded annually to undergraduate students of French, German, or Spanish, studying at any level, who have shown outstanding achievement in their area of studies.
