We actively support and encourage all academic employees to aim for and achieve national and international recognition for excellence in research and teaching. We seek to recruit and retain high-quality academic employees, support them to reach their potential and reward for outstanding performance. The Academic Staff Promotions (ASP) is one of the pathways designed to recognise and reward excellence in innovation, teaching and research for our academic employees.
We also wish to recognise employees for contributions towards the wider goals of Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato. These include being collaborative and collegial, along with commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equal opportunities, national and international linkages.
Employees are encouraged to take an active approach to their career development, to have a clear understanding of the ASP criteria and process, and to seek advice from their Head of School / Dean, peers or mentors to assist with this process.
