Desktop Backup

What is it?

The Druva InSync Desktop Backup solution is a centralised solution for backing up University data residing on users' laptops and workstation computers.

How do I access it?

Please log a job in Kuhukuhu (details below) or contact your local desktop support staff, to have the software installed and configured for you.  This  software is not default, and needs to be requested.

When would I use it?

The risk of data being lost when stored on laptops and computers is very high – laptops are often stolen, laptop and workstation hard disks do occasionally fail, and data on laptops and workstations can be inadvertently deleted for a number of reasons. To reduce the risk of data loss, the University has implemented a desktop backup solution that automatically and unobtrusively backs up data on a user's laptop or workstation.

How do I restore a folder or file?
