Getting Started With ICT

All staff and students need a computer account in order to access University services. Staff and students will be required to abide by the University of Waikato Computer System Regulations.

You will need a computer account in order to access computers, printing and internet on the campus network. Staff accounts require a User Access to be submitted and a student account is created automatically when they enrol.

UniAccess has replaced UARM (User Access Request Management System) and is used to create a user account for a new, casual or full-time staff member or visitor. Users can update or change their account details or request access to a Resource (staff/department share).

Two-Factor Authentication – also known as 2FA, TFA, or two step verification – is an extra layer of security that ensures a person trying to log into an online account is who they say they are.

UniCashStudent UniCash

UniCash is the term used for money that is put on a student's account to allow printing and photocopying. Student must have a positive UniCash balance to carry out these functions. If you don't have enough money to cover the cost of a large print job, it will not print.

InternetStudent Internet

Enrolled students automatically get free internet when using campus WiFi and lab computers on both the Hamilton and Tauranga. Access to the internet for all students 'on campus' is via UOW Students . Internet access for all students 'in the Halls of Residence' is via UOW Halls .

Staff and students can print, photocopy and scan using the Fujifilm MFDs on campus.

You can also view the status of your current requests and see the estimated delivery time for them, provide further information by adding notes or attaching files, and view a full history of all previous requests.
