Facilities have been provided UniCash to enable students to load money on their account to allow printing and photocopying. Students will need to maintain a positive balance to access these services.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you have received your ID Card, you will need to wait 20 minutes before you can add money to your account.

Students are able to send their course work and assignments to the printer in the computer lab they are working in or release it at any student Konica Minolta printer on campus, see below for instructions on ‘Follow Me Printing’.
IMPORTANT!! Always save your work first if you are printing a document, PowerPoint or PDF from Moodle or online. Failure to do so may result in blank pages coming out of the printer.
Follow Me Printing
All student (Konica Minolta) printers on campus, have been switched over to Follow me printing. This means students can now release their printing from any student printer on campus if they print to the queue //kmprint.its.waikato.ac.nz/km-student-print .

If you want to print a file or document and are not connected to the University wired network, you can connect to UOW Students or UOW Halls and do this via wireless printing.
The University has Konica Minolta Multi Function Devices (for printing and photocopying) accross campus which students can use. These have set charges as follows:
A4 Black & White 7.475 cents A4 Colour 69 cents A3 Black & White 14.95 cents A3 Colour $1.38
Duplex cost is double the single cost.
Each school / department have their own printers also and charges on these printers could vary. Most black and white laser printers charge at only 10 cents per page, but colour printers are much more. Some have a one-off cost as well as a per-page cost. The Computer Support team for the lab where the printer is located will be able to tell you what the charging rates are for that printer.
Printing costs are debited against your UniCash account immediately after the print job finishes.
UniCash - Printing and Photocopying
Students have a UniCash account which is accessed via your student ID card and is used to pay for printing and photocopying. Tauranga campus students use UniCash for printing only, and Uniflow for photocopying. To photocopy swipe your card and use the PIN you received when you registered your card. You can top up your Uniflow account at the cashiers in the Information Centre or through staff at Ako Atea.
To add money to your UniCash account you need a credit card or bank account with internet banking (we suggest one of the major banks). To add the money, you need to visit https://payments.its.waikato.ac.nz and follow the prompts.
Please Note: If you close your browser too soon during this process your UniCash account may not be credited for up to 15 minutes.
Check your UniCash balance via iWaikato, MyWeb, EdLinked or the Waikato Mobile Web.
You can use the Autoloader in the Hamilton Campus Student Centre, Level 2, to top up with cash.
No refunds are available from UniCash so only load what you think you will need. Any unused balance will be written off after two years.
The Service Desk does not accept or process requests for printing credits/refunds received directly from students.
If for some reason your printing does not get printed as expected or does not come out at all we need to have this verified and investigated by a staff member. There are 2 reasons why a print job will fail. It will either be a user error or a printer error. We do not refund user errors so please be sure you have set the correct preferences and are printing the document/s you are wanting to print be fore releasing for printing.
If there is a printing issue it needs to be investigated by a staff member so that if it is a printer error it can be fixed (logging a job to the Service Desk) so other students do not have the same problem. The staff member must also ascertain whether it is a printer problem or a user problem. If it is a printer problem then the staff member needs to request a credit for the student giving us a reason for the credit and the print job details.
WMS students get charged when they submit an assignment via the web as it prints out a copy of the assignment for the lecturer.
The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own support tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check its status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
