UniCash

UniCash is the term used for money that is put on a student's account to allow printing and photocopying. A student must have a positive UniCash balance to carry out these functions.

Adding Credit to Your ID Card

Students who wish to add money to their UniCash account (ID Card) can do this two ways; visit the website https://payments.its.waikato.ac.nz and follow the instructions or go to one of the UniCash Kiosks in the Student Centre computer lab on level 2, these machines take cash, eftpos and credit/debit cards.

On the website, you can use your credit/debit card or a bank account capable of internet banking (we suggest one of the major banks). If you switch from using your card to online banking you need to make sure you clear/refresh the browser first - you can't leave it half done as it could cause issues.

If you close your browser too soon during this process your UniCash account may not be credited for up to 15 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have just received your ID card you will need to wait until the next day before you can add CASH to your UniCash account or use it for printing and copying.

Checking Your UniCash Balance

You can check your UniCash balance here or by going to the Student Portal. These systems display the current balance as well as the history of transactions.

UniCash Refunds

The University do not give refunds on UniCash balances. Students are advised to place only small amounts on their card at a time. Any unused balance will be removed after 2 years.

Do You Need Help?

If you are in the Student Centre, you can visit the ITS Tech Desk on level 2 in the computer lab, or use one of the support phones in the east wing labs. Press 1 and an IT staff member will come and assist you.

"Kuhukuhu" is our IT Service Catalogue. You can search for, see the estimated delivery time for, and log your own service requests. You can also view the status of your current requests - providing further information by adding notes or attaching files, and view a full history of all previous requests.
