Configure Eduroam for Windows 7 & 10
For standard Windows 7, 8 & 10 desktop computers, laptops and tablets (but NOT Windows Surface RT or Windows phones) you can run the following pre-configured application that will do the setup for you or you can follow the step by step instructions below.
Please note, while the screenshots appear as windows 7, they are also the same for 8 and 10.

Open the Network and Sharing Center by clicking on the network icon in the task tray:
Click on eduroam
Click Connect
Enter your [email protected], your domain password, then click OK
Click the down arrow next to Details, and verify that radius server tools.its.waikato.ac.nz is the name of the certificate. If this is the case (as shown below), click Connect
After a short delay, the entry eduroam in the list of available networks should say Connected, assuming that the right password has been entered

If the automatic steps from above are not working, you can also use these instructions to manually connect to the eduroam wireless network.
Open the Network and Sharing Center by clicking on the network icon in the task tray:
Click on the "Set up a new connection or network" link:
Select the manually connect to a wireless network option:
Fill in the form to match what is below
Check Security type and Encryption type are as below and click the Settings button
Ensure the four items are ticked as below, fill out the text box with tools.its.waikato.ac.nz, and set the Authentication Method to EAP-MSCHAP v2 then click the Configure button
Un-tick the box below, and click OK to exit the EAP MSCHAPv2 box, then click OK again to exit the Protected EAP Properties box.
Click the Advanced Settings button as below
Set the 802.1X settings as below, there is no need to change the 802.11 settings tab. After these are set, click OK and close the remaining open network properties boxes.
Connect to Eduroam by clicking on the network icon in the task bar (see first picture at top of page), and select Eduroam. This should bring up the this Windows Security box (below). Enter your username and password you use to log onto windows.
Windows will sometimes ask what type of network this is, select Work network.
