To access iWaikato your must have a current HR Contract or be an enrolled student. Staff and students will have different access so if you are both (staff & student) you will need to ensure you log on with the correct username for the required information.
The iWaikato portal can be accessed using the direct URL http://i.waikato.ac.nz or through the staff/student homepage under Quick Links. You will need to use your Waikato University username and password to login.
If you log in without an HR contract you will see the below screen. Do NOT enter your details here. You won't have access to iWaikato till your HR Contract goes through.
Please Note: If you see the below screen after you have had access do not enter your username details here. You need to click on the Login link at the top right to gain access. (This is a known bug and will appear randomly.)
For returning students: you can use your username and password from last time you studied at the University of Waikato. We may be able to reset your password over the phone by calling (07) 838 4008. Please be aware we will need to identify you, particularly over the phone in accordance with New Zealand privacy laws.
For new students: you will gain access to your username and password once you have accepted your offer of placement. Once you are enrolled, you will use the username and password set during the registration process to access your account. iWaikato access will be provided once your enrollment status has been updated to Enrolled.
For staff members: only staff members with a current contract through Human Resources will have access to iWaikato. External computer users without a contract with HR will not have access. To access iWaikato, simply use your existing staff username and password. If you do not have a username and password, and believe that you should, please go to your department/faculty administrator and request one.
Log Your Own Ticket
The University has provided a Self Service tool through which you can log your own tickets (jobs). You can also search for a previously logged ticket to check its status. For urgent jobs you can phone the ITS Service Desk: ext 4008 (838 4008) for support.
