DVDs/Live Streaming at Waikato

The University of Waikato DVD Collection is located on Level 3 of the Central Library.

Video and DVD players are available on Level 2 of the Central Library and most items may be borrowed for use outside the Library.  See Lending policy for borrowing conditions and Finding Videos for general information on finding videos and DVDs in the Library collection.

Communication & Mass Media Complete (CMMC) offers full text and indexing and abstracts for journals covering communication, mass media, linguistics, rhetoric, language, logic, and other closely related fields. It is a rich reference tool encompassing the breadth of the communication discipline.

DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals, covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social science and humanities.

eTV has over 20,000 TV and Library recordings and is growing daily. University of Waikato staff can request any show broadcast within the last 14 days to be archived and added to the eTV library. Teaching staff can embed recordings in Learning Management Systems such as Moodle.

Access to archival issues of journals with coverage usually ending three to five years before present. Back issues of over 1500 journals in the arts, humanities, science, and social sciences with links to current issues available in Project Muse.
Kanopy offers a broad collection of streaming videos from producers such as BBC Active, Media Education Foundation, Ronin Films, and more. Films include theatrical releases, documentaries, training films, and art cinema. Users can create their own accounts to comment on videos, manage playlists, create clips and review viewing history. Some titles visible in Kanopy are not part of our current collection. If you need a film for research or teaching purposes that is not immediately available, please complete the request form.
