This search pages (basic, advanced) contains multiple methods of searching for a publication. Please note that you do not need to enter words into every field to obtain a result and you cannot search using more than one field at the same time.
All searches provide the title of the publication, as well as author, publisher and year of publication. Select the other publications by links if you wish to view other publications authored by University of Waikato authors.
Enter keywords or words from the title of the publication into the blank field. Select whether you want the search to list publications that contain all of your keywords or list publications that contain any of the keywords by selecting the appropriate radio button (circle).
Click the Search button. A list of the relevant publications and their details should then be displayed (example). Please be aware that Americanisation's of words are not interchangeable. For example if organization is entered into the keyword field the results will not list publications, which contain the word organisation.
Enter the authors surname or first name or both if known. Click the Search Button. A list of author's names will be listed (example). Select the author by clicking on their name. A list of the relevant publications and their details will then be displayed. This search only returns University of Waikato authors.
Select the division, faculty or school that the author contributes to in the drop down box. Note that some of these divisions and departments are historical. For example The School of Humanities, which is now Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. When searching for recent publications these historical divisions will not produce accurate results.
Finally select the year of publication from the second box and click the search button. A list of author names will be presented (example) which when clicked on will display that author's publications. Click the mouse on Next on the bar above or below the list when you wish to view the next page.

The final field allows you to search by research categories. These categories are currently used to classify publications that are recorded in the staff research supplement. Again, select the category from the drop down box and the year of publication and click the search button. A list of publications from within this category and the publication details will be displayed (example)
If you wish to contact the individual contributors click the link to the internal phonebook to search for the contributor's contact details.
This search allows you to enter a full department name or a keyword and after clicking the search button the page will list all matching departments (example). The matching department names themselves will be linked and clicking any one of them will display all publications made by that department.
