New Zealand Principals Federation (NZPF) Conference

The 2018 New Zealand Principals' Federation Conference was well attended by principals and members of senior leadership teams from schools across New Zealand. With an overarching conference theme of Creative Leaders, Flourishing Leaders national and international speakers inspired the audience with stories of best leadership practice from within their educational contexts.
Provocative questions were framed up and posed to challenge our thinking, reflection and future actions.
What does it mean to be a change leader?
What does meaningful progress look like in our schools?
Do children do things that matter and in doing those do they learn that THEY matter too?
Te Whai Toi Tangata, took advantage of the opportunity to provide voice and professional learning material within an exhibitor’s space at this year’s NZPFC. Of high interest for principals and leaders were our International School Principal Leadership Programme, leadership development opportunities (centrally funded PLD or direct to schools), Restorative Practice Programme as well as Post Graduate study options through our partners at the University of Waikato. Te Whai Toi Tangata’s Talk Korero Talk cards to promote conversations with parents and children were also very popular and many creative ideas of how to use this resource were discussed.
Te Whai Toi Tangata Institute of Professional Learning is able to provide support with applying for and delivering centrally funded PLD in a wide variety of areas, in both English and Māori medium. Contact us to discuss how we can meet your specific needs.
