Mentoring - It's more than just showing them where the pool key is!

Are you supporting a teacher new to the profession in 2022?  This series of three online workshops aims to support you with what you need to know, do and be in your role as a mentor. You will become familiar with the resources from the Teaching Council and learn what is involved with creating a high quality mentoring program.  This will include how to engage teachers in important conversations while providing effective feedback that makes a real difference towards personal and professional growth.

This series is designed for Primary PCT mentors and will be facilitated online using Zoom

PCT Leaders in Secondary Schools

Are Provisionally Certificated Teachers (PCT’s) in your school surviving or thriving in their first years of the teaching profession?  Are they developing a positive identity as a teacher? This full-day workshop aims to bring middle and senior secondary school leaders together to share good practice in meeting the identified needs of PCTs.

This workshop will cover the following:

  • Schoolwide systems and processes
  • Positive relationships for learning
  • Developing personalised and collective two year pathways of learning
  • Navigating challenging situations
  • PCT well being, positive teacher identity and self efficacy

This workshop will be offered kanohi ki te kanohi in Hamilton and Tauranga, and Online.

PCT Mentors in Secondary Schools

This full-day workshop aims to bring mentors of Provisionally Certificated Teachers together to share good practice in meeting the identified needs of PCTs to help them thrive in their first years of teaching.

This workshop will cover the following:

  • Schoolwide systems and processes
  • Positive relationships for learning
  • Developing personalised and collective two year pathways of learning
  • Navigating challenging situations
  • PCT well being, positive teacher identity and self efficacy

This workshop will be offered kanohi ki te kanohi in Hamilton and Tauranga, and Online.
