About Brett

Dr Brett Smith is a senior lecturer at the University of Waikato.  For the past fifteen years Dr Smith's research has focused on developing analysis models that integrate physiological measures and performance metrics to optimise performance of elite athletes.  For almost a decade Dr Smith worked alongside Richard Tonks to set up the training and monitoring models employed by Rowing New Zealand and is currently working with the Chiefs Super15 rugby team. Brett recently returned to the University and in 2013 formed a multidiscplinary team that is developing interactive online tools to help educate users in the areas of health, diet, body composition, fitness and performance.
