About Carolina
I am a Design Lecturer at the University of Waikato. Previously, I've held academic positions at the University of Otago (New Zealand), the Burg-Giebichenstein School of Art and Design (Germany) and the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Switching between industry and Academia, I have delivered courses, seminars, talks and published articles, conference papers, and book chapters on different design media. I founded (bi)gital» in 1996 and since then works for companies and institutions in Latin America, Europe, and New Zealand as designer and consultant. With (bi)gital» I have been collaborating with HfG Archive Ulm, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Buenos Aires Book Fair, Akademie Schloß Solitude, tipoGráfica magazine, Soda Stereo, Apple Latinamerica, among others. I have a Graphic Design degree and a Master’s in Communication Design Theory from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA/FADU), Argentina.
I am very passionate about typography, in 2019 I created Mansalva and it became part of the Google Fonts Collection: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Mansalva
