About Claire

Dr Breen holds a BCL from the National University of Ireland (University College Cork). She also holds an LLM (International Law) and a PhD from the University of Nottingham.

Claire Breen’s current research interests focus upon the confluence of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, with a particular interest in States' legal obligations arising from post-conflict reconstruction. Dr Breen has previously published extensively in the area of children's rights.

Dr Breen is currently supervising doctoral candidates and has supervised LLM students in the past. She continues to welcome applications for doctoral and graduate supervision for any subject within international human rights law, international humanitarian law and the laws relating to peace operations.
