Dr Cheema joined Waikato Management School in January 2019 as a Senior Lecturer in Finance.
Prior to this, he was Associate Professor of Finance at KIMEP University, Kazakhstan; Senior Research Fellow at the University of Waikato, New Zealand; Senior Lecturer in Finance at Curtin University, Malaysia, and Lecturer in Finance at Lincoln University, New Zealand.
Dr. Cheema's research focuses on empirical asset pricing, behavioural finance, corporate governance, and energy economics.
He has published several articles in leading international journals, including the International Review of Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, International Review of Economics & Finance, Energy Economics, and Applied Economics.
