A passionate Maori legal academic researching in the area of legal jurisprudence and tikanga Maori and how that interacts in the context of criminal law.

Previous work experience in the Ministry of Justice for District and High Court registries, as registrar. In addition, tutored Corporate Entities and thoroughly enjoyed it. Currently teaching, torts, dispute resolution, mediation, public law, land law, private law and litigation strategies with Te Piringa Faculty of Law.

Katrina is in the final stages of her PhD relative to legal norms of whanaungatanga relevant to s27 (cultural reports) of the Sentencing Act 2002.

Katrina focuses her energy on empowering others with the knowledge base to succeed in life achievements.
