Dr Mark A Houlahan
Qualifications: MA (Auck); PhD (Toronto); Grad Dip Writing Studies (Waikato).
Mark is Associate Professor in the English Programme in the School of Arts, where he teaches Shakespeare and his Contemporaries, and Literary Theory. He has recently co-authored Antipodal Shakespeare remembering and forgetting in Britain, Australia and New Zealand, 1916 (Bloomsbury/Arden Shakespeare, 2018). He has book chapters forthcoming on “Shakespeare and Cultural Memory” and “Shakespeare, Tourism, and the Pop-Up Globe”. He is co-editing (with Aidan Norrie) a book on Renaissance Drama (New Directions in Early Modern Drama: Edges, Spaces, and Intersections) and is planning a book on iconic New Zealand theatre, tentatively called 10 Plays from the Edge of the World.
