About Penny

Penny graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (First Class Hons) from Victoria University of Wellington in 2014, followed by a Masters in Community Psychology from the University of Waikato in 2015. She then received a Summer Scholarship from the Waikato Regional Council, and went on to work for AgResearch in the Social Research Unit until 2021. Research areas included biosecurity, resilience in rural communities, monitoring and evaluation, and entomophagy (consumption of insects). Penny uses both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, primarily surveys, interviews and social network analysis. In a broad sense, her work focuses on measuring and enhancing the outcomes and impacts of research.
