About Susanna

Susanna joined the University of Waikato in 2015 as a lecturer in finance.

Her research interest lies primarily in the area of empirical corporate finance.

She has taught a wide range of courses, including Finance, Capital Markets, Personal Financial Planning, International Corporate Finance/Multinational Financial Management, Advanced Corporate Finance, Derivative Securities, and Financial Risk Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Research Supervised

Susanna has successfully supervised one PhD student to completion (2016-2019) at the University of Waikato.

She currently serves as a second supervisor of two PhD students in Finance:

-Three essays on corporate governance, 2016-;

-Determinants of capital structure adjustment speed: A cross-country analysis, 2017-.

Research Interests

Empirical corporate finance, including corporate governance, boards of directors, managerial overconfidence, corporate innovation, capital structure and mergers and acquisitions.
