Qualifications: B.Sc (Biology) Diploma (Environment & Management) - Waikato University
Working along side fellow Co-Director Professor Karin Bryan, Tim supports the activities of the Environmental Research Institute (Te Pūtahi Rangahau Taiao), in particular supporting mātauranga, freshwater research and promoting the Waikato River Authority, Iwi and the Waikato River Vision and Strategy. Tim previously worked for Te Waiora Joint Institute with NIWA and for Tainui as their Environmental manager. He has been involved in treaty settlement negotiations, the Iwi Leaders Group for Freshwater, and developed the tribes corporate relationships, Ministerial accords and Council JMA's. He has acted as a commissioner on resource management hearings and was a supporter of Waikato University research projects, including the establishment of the ERI. He has been in NZ national championship winning crews in both waka ama and dragon boating. Tim was born and raised on the banks of the Waikato River at Waahi Pa marae, Rahui Pokeka-Huntly.
