Vida works at Waikato University where she teaches forensic accounting and financial accounting and researches into forensic accounting and innovation in accounting education. Prior to arriving in New Zealand Vida worked in audit practice, the corporate energy sector and academia in South Africa. Vida also spent time consulting to oil companies in the Middle East.
Vida is the winner of the 2016 Divisional Excellence in Teaching Award based on her VOICE (virtues, Obstacles, Individual, Community and Education) teaching philosophy .
Research on Block Chain, Procurement Fraud
My primary research interest concentrates on fraud and forensic accounting. I also specialize innovation and diversity in accounting education. Vida concentrates on and bringing creativity into accounting education in order to intersect the areas of practice and academia. Vida has published in leading journals in the field.
Vida won the 2016 Best Paper Award for her innovative paper in Forensic Accounting. and also received the 2018 Highly Commended Emerald Publishing Award for her paper in Management Education.
