This paper covers the system approach to design and development of mechatronics systems. Modern computer aided tools will be used to design, develop and test the systems. This is the key 200-level integrative mechatronics design paper. The use of characteristics mechatronics design tools/methods such as multi-domain simulation, hardware in the loop testing and systems engineering process. This paper also covers modern computer aided mechanical design and hands-on workshop sessions to train students in basic manufacturing skills.
