A critical exploration of intersections between human society and the environment. The course explores the ways in which different views and attitudes influence human interactions with the environment. Key themes include governance, management and development, which are addressed through issues such as climate change, population growth and resource use. Lectures and laboratory classes provide students with an introduction to case studies from New Zealand and overseas.
