Erena has played badminton since she was eight years old and has gained many achievements in her passion. Her biggest achievement to date is competing at World Junior Championships in Peru 2015. As a New Zealand age group representative, Erena's dream goal would be to compete at the Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Erena is very motivated and dedicated to not just badminton but other aspects in life including her academics. As the past Sports Leader at Sacred Heart Girls College, Erena is starting her first year studying towards a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biotechnology and Biochemistry. Erena has always had a passion for science and wants to utilize this passion to help others through medical research.

Erena was selected to be part of the eight member New Zealand Team to compete at World Junior Championships in Lima, Peru 2015. The ten day event included individual and team events where New Zealand played some of the top countries in the world. Competing and traveling to this tournament was a huge experience for Erena.
