Our suite of initiatives for Māori students cater to our first-year students through to our PhD students. We’re with you from beginning to end to ensure your time at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato is a success.

Māori Mentoring Units

Our Māori Mentoring Units are dedicated to improving Māori student achievement at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato.

Te Toi o Matariki

He karanga maioha tēnei ki ngā tauira Māori o Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato e whai nei i ngā tohu hōnore, ngā tohu paerua rānei.

MAI ki Waikato

An annual programme of meetings and workshops for Māori and Indigenous PhD students who are enrolled or interested in enrolling in a doctoral programme.

Te Puna Tautoko

TPT is a network of Māori staff and students across the University who can advocate and support Māori kaupapa.

Te Kāhui Pīrere

Te Kāhui Pīrere helps to ensure first-year Māori students have the best start possible at the University of Waikato.

Te Hononga ā Kiwa

The goals of THAK are to increase Māori business capability and awareness and to improve Māori business engagement in the North Asia (NACAPE), the Southeast Asia (SEACAPE) and the Latin America (LATAMCAPE) regions.
