The University of Waikato 50th Anniversary Did you know? Community Open Day

Community Open Day

Saturday 17 May 2014, 11am-4pm

This year, the University of Waikato is celebrating and reflecting on 50 years of teaching and research excellence. As part of the year’s celebrations, we hosted a Community Open Day. Around 3000 members of the public were welcomed on campus as we held our first Community Open Day showcasing our research, facilities and campus.

Designed with the community in mind, Community Open Day was a free event and took place on the day after our annual Open Day which is designed mainly for secondary school students. On Community Open Day, themed ‘hubs’ were based around campus, and featured a variety of activities, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, tours and mini lectures. Whether you were a student, staff, alumni or community member, Community Open Day had something for everyone.
