50th Anniversary Launch
The official launch of our 50th year took place on 14 February, with a great turn out of current and previous staff, and invited stakeholders who have been integral in our first 50 years. Read more about the launch event and view photos.
Commemoration of 50th Anniversary
Prime Minister John Key, Chancellor Jim Bolger, Vice-Chancellor Professor Roy Crawford, Hamilton Mayor Julie Hardaker and other guests attended a commemoration of the University of Waikato's 50th anniversary on 13 March.
Balloons over Waikato ASB Nightglow

Hamilton & Tauranga Stakeholder Breakfasts
We invited stakeholders and thanked them for their support over the past 50 years with breakfast in Hamilton on 10 April 2014 and Tauranga on 11 April 2014.
Campus 5km Fun Run & Walk
The University of Waikato, in association with the Hamilton City Hawks Running Club and the Waikato Students' Union hosted a 5km fun run & walk. Read more about the Campus 5km Fun Run.
Community Open Day
About 3000 members of the public were welcomed on campus on Saturday 17 May, as the University held its first Community Open Day.

Waipa District Council in conjunction with the University of Waikato hosted a series of engaging talks about Waipa's fascinating heritage.
