Celebrating 50 years
This celebration book is a well-crafted publication packed with stunning photographs – both young and old – and a detailed history of the first 50 years of the University of Waikato.
Celebrating 50 years: A detailed history of the first 50 years of the University of Waikato.
The University of Waikato Celebrating 50 Years is not an official history of the University, nor does it pretend to be, but it does provide a comprehensive look at how the University of Waikato came into being and some of the many milestones on its development from 1964 until today.
It contains chapters outlining the early days of the University, the development of the stunning 65 hectare campus, the world-class research being carried out, the importance of Māori to the University, international achievers, community connections and, of course, a glimpse into the future.
It has been designed to have something of interest for anyone who has been involved with the University of Waikato during its first five decades, whether as a student or staff member or simply by living in the same city as the country's best young university.
We hope you share this book with friends and family and encourage you to dip into it on a regular basis, rather than devour it all in a single sitting.
